The Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) held an anti-hoax declaration event at the Polda Metro Jaya Meeting Hall, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman No. 55, Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, South Jakarta, Tuesday (10/10).

We're ready to synergize with Polda Metro Jaya

It was officially opened by Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Gen. Pol. Karyoto. It was attended by an artist Deddy Corbuzier and representatives from the Jakarta KPU and Jakarta Bawaslu.

Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Gen. Pol. Karyoto appreciated the influencers and mass media who play an active role and support to prevention of hoax information in the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya.

"In the current era of industry 5.0, people can produce, access, upload, and download and convey information to and from cyberspace easily which brings positive and negative benefits," he expressed.

He explained that one of the negative impacts of information dissemination activities was the emergence of various kinds of hoaxes.

"This is part of the enlightenment ahead of the election 2024, as there are certain parties who want to influence through social media," he explained.

He added the spread of hoax and non-hoax information via social media is currently happening very quickly

"Spreading hoax news can have a negative impact and Polda Metro Jaya will enforce the law," he added.

He also encouraged residents to apply the principle of filtering before sharing or disseminating information via social media. The spread of hoax information was aimed at creating a chaotic situation, disrupting the Community Service and Community Service.

The Police Chief also invited media crew members to disseminate valid and clear information to the public.

"Hence, I ask the Public Relations Division of Polda Metro Jaya to work together with influencers to be more active in monitoring information on the internet which has an impact on the disruption of a community order in the real world," he asked.

Hopefully, it was a trigger and trigger for public motivation with the help of influencers and media crew to declare anti-hoax against all information, thus residents would be more careful and sort it out first.

"Wise people don't believe hoaxes. Let's fight it together by keeping the community security and social security situation safe and peaceful. I urge residents to report to us if they receive hoax news," he asserted.

Public Information Services Sub-Group Chairman, Harry Sanjaya added his party was ready to synergize with various parties in anticipating the spread of hoaxes.

"Diskominfotik also has a Jakarta channel against hoaxes. That's why, we're ready to synergize with Polda Metro Jaya," he stressed.
